About Dr. Hirshberg

Dr. Jonathan (Jake) Hirshberg is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine for the Divisions of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Pulmonary Critical Care. He takes a direct, open, and honest, approach to patient care – which allows him to establish relationships with his patients built on trust. This trust allows them to work through any challenges in their care and to celebrate the successes.

His clinical and research interests focus on critical illness in pregnancy and its associated morbidity and mortality. His research work is focused on predicting morbidity in the peripartum period manifested through hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage, infection, and sepsis.

Dr. Hirshberg is an expert in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in pregnancy. This is a topic to which he has focused much of his research over the past two years, and which has allowed him to answer important research questions, disseminate vital information and improve the care of women infected with SARS-CoV-2.

As new transplants to Colorado, Dr. Hirshberg and his family have been taking every opportunity to explore Denver and the mountains. They are always looking for new hikes, skiing new slopes and finding great restaurants in town.
